The purpose of this study is to detect a very important mental process that has a large relationship with the various types of learning. And is also one of the mental activities that occupy many regions of the cerebral cortex. The recognition of facial emotions is not a simple function to understand others, but it allows beyond the operation of the theory of mind, which begins to develop in the early stages of development. The difference between the brains of normal children and the children with asperger syndrome of pushes us to rethink how they acquire this mental function. This case study aims to answer the following questions: - Do the children with Asperger syndrome suffer from a deficit in the perception of facial emotions? - How they acquire this cognitive operation? We applied a range of clinical tools: clinical interview, including the case study, and a set of tests: the French version of EQ, AQ, SQ, the scale of Tony ATWOOD for the diagnosis of the asperger syndrome, BEC, the test of man and computer program developed in this study that diagnoses the disorder of the perception of facial emotions. After analyzing data collected the results revealed that children with Asperger syndrome perceive facial emotions in a significantly different manner than normal children, it is due to problems in the functioning of the theory of mind and in facial perception. The study also demonstrated their ability to exploit the context of facial emotions to understand their meanings.en_US
