Abstract

This research is designed to find out the effect of the Arabic language in enhancing Arab Islamic identity under the of the new changes caused by globalization. To preserve its entity, a nation must have certain bonds involving all aspects of lives of its members, though some of these bonds have priority over one another. Language is one of the most significant bonds that are prone to danger under globalism. The general weakness of the individuals’ language can lead to the melting of the personality , the loss of identity , and cutting off the bond that keeps the nation united, fortifies its entity and realizes its independence . For this reason, this paper discusses topics closely pertaining to the relationship between language and identity , including: the concept of identity , language and religion and their relationship to identity , and the most important contemporary challenges facing the Arabic language in the era of globalization , and the anticipated role of the official Arab and Islamic institutions towards the Arabic language . The study concludes that there is no identity without the language
