Germination is the basic step for the development of plants, the seed is the key element to the seed germination and plants growth. The aim of our work is the study of the effect of saline stress on four spontaneous species(Asphodelus tenuifolius, Genista saharae, Oudneya africana and Retama retam) which located in sahara. For that, germination’s tests have realized in deferents concentrations of sodium chloride (NaCl) : 0 mM (control), 50 mM, 100 mM, 200 mM and 300 mM we executed in the optimum temperature of each species. The effect of saline stress showed that elevation of NaCl’s concentration induces a decrease of rate, and the speed of germination . The physiological limit of the germination is not the same for all the studied species, the NaCl’s concentration (6 g/l), (12 g/l) , (15 g/l) et (18 g/l) arephysiological limit respectively at Asphodelus tenuifolius ,Oudneya africana, Retama retam andGenista saharae
