International trade contracts go beyond the limits of a single state; they are concluded between parties of different nationalities and cultures, allowing such contracts to be written in several languages and to be explained by divergent methods and means. International rules of interpretation derived from the wording of Article 8 of the Vienna Convention on the international sale of goods and the principles of international contracts issued by UNIDROIT, intervene to establish rules for uniform international interpretation of international contracts in the context of the unification of international trade law.en_US
