dc.description.abstractThe present study aimed to count Shelduck breeding within the wetland complex of Hautesplateaux of Eastern Algeria (Fig.1), and to describe their breeding ecology. Our study has been undertaken during two seasons 2003/04 and 2004/05. we have monitored the number and the broods size observed of theShelduckTadornatadornaon each site of the complex, Weekly counts of the breeding population of the species were carried out from Mars to Jun during two breeding season 2004 and 2005, percentage of territoriality of territorial pairs, sex ratio and some breeding parameters were calculated such as distance between territorials pairs and distance territory Ŕ nest. Our results show that the breeding of the Shelduck in the region is occasionally, we have counted 15 and 47 broods of the species in 2004 and 2005 respectively.en_US
