dc.description.abstractSuicide is a phenomenon that is considered among the great problems humanity suffers. According to statistics there are 3000 cases of suicide in the world. It is classified 95 in the world, with 1.30 per 100 thousand inhabitants. Bejaia being in the forefront with 99 cases of suicide recorded in 2004.The aim of our study is to determine, the age group most affected by this phenomenon and to discover the means used to perform this act. our problematic is to discover the reasons and the factors that contribute to suicide and its impact on society. To carry out this study we have chosen the analytical descriptive method .This study is based on methodological tools, interview, case study and analysis of content of the interviews .it is concluded that there are some factors leading to suicide among them, the phenomenon of suicide is a general phenomenon, it affects all the regions of Bejaia and not one region without the other. Family disintegration lack of communication and delinquency are important factors leading to suicide. Concerning the tools used , females use easy means like poison while males prefer hanging, shooting onesself, and jump from altitude.en_US
