The quota policy as a measure to activate the woman political participation in Algeria: A social-political view

Abstract

This article focuses on the women's quota system, which evokes in depth the question of the participation of Algerian woman in political life in all its forms. Although the Algerian state presents this system as an act that strengthens the democratic process, its application from 2012 highlights the social and political contradictions of the status of the woman in Algeria, which place the question of the female quota beyond the legal aspect.
