dc.description.abstractThe subject of self-esteem among university students is one of the important topics that arouse the interest of specialists in many fields. Indeed, despite the fact that the University ensures the passage of the student from adolescence to adulthood; however, research on students' mental health states that academics face many constraints including those related to adjustment and responsibilities specific to adulthood. It is from this perspective that the researchers looked at the subject of self-esteem among university students by comparing two groups of students, one enrolled in the first year and the other in the second year, applying Cooper Smith's self-esteem scale. This measure was applied to a sample of 130 students studying at the University of Algiers-2. The researchers expect that self-esteem will be high among second-year students and low among first-year students.en_US
