This study examines the dimensions of the state-building crisis and its implications for asymmetric security threats in the Sahel-Saharan region, by identifying the concepts of state-building crisis and asymmetric security threats, and the extent to which the geopolitical and ethnic realities of this region affect the spread of these threats, which contributed to it, a set of political, economic and security transformations witnessed by the world; as the study aims to show the impact of the state-building crisis in the Sahel-Saharan region on the spread of such threats. The importance of the study comes through enriching and deepening the search on security issues at that region, which contributes to finding practical solutions to this phenomenon. A descriptive, historical and comparative approach was used. The study concluded that the Sahel-Saharan region has geopolitical and ethnic characteristics that have had repercussions in the security situation facing the region. This requires dealing with and responding to them through a comprehensive and multidimensional strategy based on several foundations, including the activation of regional cooperation between the countries concerned, by creating frameworks and mechanisms aimed at intensifying field presence to monitor and limit the activities of terrorist groups, organized crime networks and illegal immigration to ensure security and stability in the region.en_US
