The failed states issues in the Maghreb region and its impact on security balances: a Libya’s case after 2011

Abstract

This study aims to determine the security implications of the Libyan case as a failed state in the Maghreb region , which was as a result of current political crises after the popular protests in the post-2011 period that invaded the Maghreb region and led to the restructuring of both the political and security environment, although most of them succeeded in passing through this situation by reshaping the system or building an emerging democracy, some cases have failed to maintain the most basic structural elements of the state to become a disastrous model of failed state.The Libyan situation is the most prominent example of this failed cases after the fall of the Gadhafi regime leading the country in astatusof multilateral anarchy and dimensions in the form of the tribal war and Conflict about for power and areas in the absence of the official power structures and law, which made it in complete inability to carry out itsInternational commitment, and all of this has resonated widely internally and externally to Maghreb region ,and forced the Countries of the regionto respond increasingly to common security and to address new dynamics in a new challenge to security interactions.
