Sociological analysis of corruption phenomenon in the Algerian society

Abstract

This paper focus on corruption phenomenon in the Algerian society through induction of most prominent data, which treated the topicality of the asked phenomenon with its different types within various institutions, organizations and social construction of Algerian society. The study dealt with the problem of corruption in our society as a social phenomenon that has many meanings and is controlled by a number of factors, and the issue of corruption is interlinked with many social concepts, so some of the sociological approaches explained to the phenomenon of corruption and some previous studies on corruption have been discussed. In addition to addressing some social dimensions of corruption, including the weak means of social control as a deterrent to corruption, the emergence of a culture that encourages different forms of corruption in society, as well as the discussion of the corruption index in Algeria according to transparency International, and some social effects of financial corruption crimes in Algerian society were presented. Finally, the study concluded that a sociological approach was offered to explain the different social dimensions of the phenomenon of corruption within the Algerian society
