The CPS consisted of 10 statements; a principal component analysis identified one high loaded factor. A heterogeneous sample of Internet users (n = 544) was recruited online (Facebook and Twitter) (32.1% males, female 67.9 mean age 28.79 years). The reliability test showed that the scale had good internal consistency reliability and Split-Half reliability, Cronbach’s alpha 0.88, and the validity test showed that it had good structure validity, content validity. This scale can be used to assess the fear of covid-19 of people in Algeria and other COVID-19-hit regions and countries.
