dc.description.abstractmeans conducting studies on the structure of this community. Therefore, talking about demographics is to highlight their structure according to sex and age, because it is one of the most important demographic characteristics most used, as is the case with the structure according to marital status and economic activity. And it represents a basis for studying other structures. Not to mention that it plays a role in mapping and analyzing demographic processes and showing the extent of their impact on development. We focused its attention on Algeria through a demographic study of census results and the last calendar year, using both historical and descriptive analytical approaches. Our objective is to understand the reality of the development of Algerian society through the changes in its demographic composition according to sex and age. In the end, we concluded the following and other results: In addition to rapid demographic growth, Algeria has witnessed a development in its population which made its structure necessarily change. Therefore, Algeria will have a long term future for its population if it maintains this pace given low fertility and high life expectancyen_US
