dc.description.abstract | The present work is focused on the study of polysaccharides derived from the leaves of Astragalus armatus Lam., A spontaneous plant with a medicinal character widely used in the Algerian Sahara. The study consists of extracting the water-soluble polysaccharide constituents with distilled water at room temperature for 24 hours after removing the ethanol extract. The mass yield of extraction of the water-soluble polysaccharides is 4.85%. For the evaluation of the ant hyperglycemic activity of the extract, the inhibition of the digestive enzymes αglucosidase in vitro was measured. PSPC effectively inhibits α-glucosidase and shows an IC50 of 8 mg / ml, compared to acarbose as a positive control which has a strong inhibitory power of 100% from the concentration of 1.6 mg / ml. In this regard, this polysaccharide extract holds promising therapeutic potential. | - |
