The text turned to a sentence deficit in the process of linguistic description of verbal phenomena, until (Robert de Beaugrand) came and set seven criteria for textuality, three of which include the external context. What is meant by external context is the material, cultural and social conditions surrounding the text, and this context include Situation, media, and intertextuality. The context of the situation plays a significant role in composing speech and weaving it according to the conditions that require, and it also has an influential role in determining the significance and standing on it. The media is one of the most important clues for which the text is created, and it searches for the extent to which the text is characterized by expected elements versus unexpected elements, or the known versus the unknown (surprising versus usual). Intertextuality is one of the features of the text that refer to other previous or contemporaneous texts. In this research, we relied on investigating information from its sources, then we followed the descriptive approach and the significance of this information theoretically according to de Beaugrand's views, and then analyzed its elements in the light of textual linguistics and in the light of ancient Arabic critical studies. The ancient Arabs dealt with situational, media, and many forms of intertextuality in their writings. By applying these criteria to the Qur’anic text, we saw the role of context and understanding the reasons for revelation in analyzing some verses. We also saw that unusual Qur’anic structures break the horizon of the recipient’s expectations and as a result raise the media competence found in the Qur’anic text. We proved that intertextuality contributes to revealing some Qur’anic meanings, and we conclude that all these three criteria cause the semantic development of the noble verses, highlighting God’s will better and reducing the possibilities.en_US
