dc.description.abstractThe scientific clinical community has known a paradigm shift in the treatment of the disorders following a trauma, and that since the emergence of the creative therapeutic model named eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), which combines the ease of application and the effectiveness of the result. This article aims to; at once explain the therapy that uses the bilateral sensory stimulation, to clarify the theoretical assumptions on which it is based on, and the components of the therapeutic protocol and also to offer a critical and accurate review for a more efficient treatment and finally to get the recognition of capable scientific bodies led by the American Psychiatry Association (A.P.A) in (2004), and the World Health Organization (W.H.O) in 2013.en_US
