Abstract: This study aims to present the protocol for the basic version and the complex version (border version) of the variable-dimensional card sorting test after translating the instruction and applying it in the Algerian environment, and passing it on a sample of 80 children whose ages range between (3 and 7 years), the results showed The majority of children between 3 and 4 years make mistakes in the post-switching stage, unlike those with 4 and 5 years who succeed in this task, but most of them fail in the border version. As for the category of 5 and 7 years, most of them succeed in the test in its three stages, as the results showed. There is also a correlation between age and the dimensions of the test, where the correlation was estimated between the dimension of colors and children (3-4 years) with 0.51, and between the dimension of shapes and children of (4-5) years with 0.85. ) years by 0.86, and this explains the performance of children according to their age stages
