Abstract: The purpose of current study is to reveal the nature of dictation mistakes that are common in students ’expressive writings, and to identify the most important reasons behind committing these errors, and then put the necessary proposals to treat them. In order to realize this study, a sample of (112) male and female students was selected in the fifth grade of primary school. They were chosen by means of a cluster random sample, and a questionnaire was prepared that was applied to a group of teachers (56) in the primary stage, and after statistically processing the results of the study , the results of the study revealed that: the most common dictation errors were writing hamza in their various forms, and mixing between open T and bound T During writing, however , the differences between males and females in the error percentage did not reach the level of statistical significance , as the study found to reveal the presence of several factors behind the students' committing of these errors , and this has finally reached a set of suggestions.
