Psychological & Educational Studies Reviewen_US
The current study aims to reveal the extent to which secondary school students practice good Mnemonics habits and to know the prevalence of academic reluctance in the study sample. The study also aims to reveal the relationship between the Mnemonics habits and academic reluctance and whether the relationship between the Mnemonics habits and academic reluctance is quite different among second-year secondary school students and third-year secondary school students, as well as between the students of the literary and scientific streams. The study sample consisted of 321 pupils. In order to collect the data, the study was based on the Mnemonics habits scale and the academic reluctance scale after ascertaining their psychometric characteristics. The study's results showed that the level of practice of good Mnemonics habits by the study sample is low and that the prevalence of academic reluctance is moderate. There is a statistically negative relationship between the Mnemonics habits and academic procrastination. The correlation between the Mnemonics habits and academic reluctance varies between second-year students and third-year secondary students while the correlation between Mnemonics habits and academic reluctance does not vary significantly between literary and scientific pupils..en_US
