Abstract: The current study aimed at the following: to identify the preferences of thinking styles among a sample of secondary students in Zaouiet Kounta; and to identify the differences in these styles according to gender; the academic class and specialization, reached 100 students from the literary and scientific specialization. Using a comparative descriptive approach and a list of thinking styles (short version); prepared by Sternberg and Wagner 1992; translation and codification by AbdelMoneim Al-Darder and Issam El-Tayeb 2004. The data were processed in several statistical methods. Here are the results of the study: There was a difference in the sample's preferences for thinking styles, and the external style was the most preferred. There are differences between the study sample individuals in the two styles of global and local thinking in favor of males and the methods of judgment and hierarchy in favor of scientific. There were no differences in all thinking styles according to the class variable.
