The Hassi Messaoud oil field is known for its large area and the heterogeneous nature of its oil reservoirs, resulting from the geological and structural characteristics of the region. This has led to the need for well testing in order to determine the physical properties of the reservoir, such as permeability, damage factor and others , that use to know the reservoir model and its boundaries. The objective of this study is to utilize well testing techniques, specifically the Test Build-Up (TBU) test, in the well OMKZ421, using the SAPHIR KAPPA software. Our study has identified the presence of different flow regimes, although sometimes these can be obscured by wellbore storage when using a surface shut-in device. To address this issue, we have proposed a solution that involves reducing wellbore storage by using downhole choke valves instead of surface shut-in devices.en_US
