dc.description.abstract | The use of microorganisms such as bacteria in the synthesis of nanoparticles appears as an eco- responsible approach and an alternative to the chemical method. Our objective in this study is the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from native Leuconostoc bacterial strains and to evaluate the antibacterial activity of these nanoparticles. The synthesis of AgNPs was initially observed by a color change from greenish yellow to brown, which was confirmed by UV-visible spectroscopy. Silver nanoparticles were further characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR- FTIR) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. AgNPs synthesized by Ln C1, Ln C2, Ln C10 were found to have antibacterial activity against four pathogenic bacteria tested with significant zones of inhibition. | - |
