Abstract: FeCo-based nanostructured powders were produced by mechanical alloying in a planetary ball mill with different milling times. The different physical properties were studied as a function of milling time (h), ranging from 0 h to 96 h, using X-ray diffraction (XRD), and by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Some magnetic properties at room temperature were measured by a vibration sample magnetometer (VSM). The saturation magnetisation decreases rapidly during the first 9 h of milling to about 115 emu. A coercivity value Hc of about 71.6 Gauss is obtained after 96 h of milling.
