Abstract: In this paper, conventional direct torque control (DTC) and DTC with matrix converter (DTC_MC) for induction motor (IM) drives are studied comparatively. The advantages of DTC method are combined with the advantages of the matrix converter. Comparison between the two techniques is made through computer simulations.
