Abstract: "Quality assurance in the Algerian higher education: difficulties and indicators of success". The topic of learning quality, particularly in higher education, drew the attention of researchers and trusteeship as well. This Article is an attempt to examine the topic. To achieve this goal, the research has been divided into two parts: a theoretical one and a practical one. In the theoretical part, we dealt with the theoretical sides concerning the concepts of quality assurance and the identification of the difficulties and the indicators that guarantee the quality in higher education. An electronic questionnaire which contains sections has been used for teachers of higher education who belongs to research laboratories. The appropriate statistical methods have been used in order to examine the hypotheses. The findings of the study showed that although teachers tend to acknowledge difficulties to implement the system of quality and its assurance in the Algerian higher education, there are indicators and internal and external challenges that oblige the trusteeship to adopt the concept of quality assurance in the Algerian higher education
