| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | This study aims to shed light on the relationship between oil prices and unemployment rates inAlgeria, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait during the period from 2000 to 2022. Panel Data was used, with unemployment as the dependent variable and oil prices as the independent variable. By applying the three basic models of panel data and conducting a differentiation test between them, the results showed that the random effects model is appropriate. After analyzing the random effects model, the results concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between oil prices and unemployment rates, in addition to an inverse relationship between them. These results were interpreted to mean that every increase in oil prices leads to a decrease in the unemployment rate. However, unemployment in the studied countries is not affected by oil prices as the only main factor, but there are other factors that affect it such as the economic growth rate, inflation rates, and other factors. | - |
