Abstract

Popular literature is a rich and virgin field by its oral artistic forms that were not given much importance, particularly popular songs in varied dialects, in which the linguistic variables are diverse in Algeria from east to west and from north to south.

Basing on that the topic dealt with popular songs in western Aures region, through checking their contents and though discovering the main habits and conviction in that community that seems to be vehicular by this literary from, we aimed at picking up the old function, such as the magical sect function. For that we adapted the following outline.

1- Clarifying the concepts

- Defining the popular song

- Defining the popular habits and costumes

2- Studding some songs and picking up the main values and costumes of the Aurasian community

3- The main functions of each form of songs speeded in western Aures through the samples studied.
