dc.description.abstractThe extraction of essential oils from Marrubium deserti leaves has been carried out using the water steam practice. The analysis of the essential oils by GC-MS, showed that 27 components representing 62,91% of the oil and mainly belonging to the class of sesquiterpenes. The major constituents were δ-cadinene (17,63%), germacrene D (7,01%) trimethylpentadeca-2-one (4,61%) and 9-methyl-undecene (4,17%). The results were showed the existence of diverse particular structures that have been detected for the first time in Marrubium species. In another hand several abundant alkanes belonging to the odd-numbered carbon atom series have been identified.en_US
