Natural extracts resulting from plants contain a variety of biologically active molecules. In this context, we tried to evaluate the antifungal activity of aqueous and methanol extracts prepared from the leaves of Satureja calamintha. Quatitative estimation of total phenol and flavonoid content by a colorimetric assay showed that the aqueous and methanol extracts are rich in these components. Assessment in vitro antifungal activity of plant extracts against three fungal species (Fusarium oxysporum, Aspergillus flavus, Cladosporiun herbarum) show that the methanol extract had high moderate antifungal activity against A. flavus with 87,5% inhibition rate. However, the aqueous extract is revealed without any effects on the growth of all fungal species.en_US
