Résumé: The September 11 attacks (also referred to as 9/11) marked a change observed inthe world’s focus on Islam
and Arabs/Middle Easterners specifically. Post 9/11 fiction is highly characterized by Orientalist stereotyping.
Islam is claimed to nurture terrorism, and promote bloodshed, and Arabs/Middle Easternersare called the
“terrorists” who have beenbehind the attacks.Asa result, a powerful massive and aggressive literary attack has
been directed towards contemporary Arab and Muslim societies for their “violence.”In the light of Edward Said’s
Orientalism (1978), this article seeks to discuss three post 9/11 American literary works and highlight their
writers’ positive portrayal of the main Arab/Muslim characters, a portrayal which dismantles the
stronglyestablished stereotype of violence that post 9/11 fiction emphatically mirrors. These works are Lorrie
Moore’s A Gate at the Stairs (2009), Claire Messud’s The Woman Upstairs (2013) and Lorraine Adams Harbor
(2004). By exploiting these writers’ portrayal of the protagonists of the novels and by referring to keynovels
inpost 9/11fictionwhichoffer key features ofthe stereotype of violence, we aim at demonstrating that Lorrie
Moore’s A Gate at the stairs, Claire Messud’sThe Woman Upstairs and Lorraine Adams’ Harbor challenge the
stereotype of violent Arabs/Muslims spread in the aftermath of 9/11.

PhD dissertations dealing with the intercultural approach in the teaching ofFrench as a foreign language
in the Algerian context. First, an account of our analysis of PhD dissertations will be introduced. Second,
two examples that canreflect a effective implementation of the intercultural approach in teaching French,

Titre: The celebration of Mawlid al-Nabawi through history: the jurisprudential foundations of a thousand-year-old tradition
Auteur(s): Issam Toualbi-Thaâlibî
Résumé: The cultural and cultural aspects of the celebration of Mawlid al-Nabawi, they can become an
expression of the Muslim world, constituting expressions of impression by Omme. This testimony does
not really seem to have a tendency to appear: on the premise that this celebration was not initiated by the
Prophet himself and was not enacted by the sacred texts, the majority of Salafi Imams "Of heresy" (bid'a)
and tirelessly multiply the calls to his boycott. This is an old argument for a desecration of the Mawlid al-
Nabawi festival, we can not question the validity of this reasoning? Perhaps to say that the celebration of
the Mawlid has its origins in the statement of the sacred texts of Islam, or would not, on the contrary, be
something unjustly sacralized as pretending to its detractors? To try to bring a beginning of answer to this
interrogation, the author will endeavor, at first, to trace the history of the celebration of the Mawlid in
Islam (1). Before of bringing, in a second time, on the view of the geologists ormanians on the legitimacy
of this religious night (2).
