    <title>American Literature and the Consolidation of the American Exceptional Culture</title>
    <link>https://dspace.univ-ouargla.dz/jspui/handle/123456789/12825</link>
    <description>Titre: American Literature and the Consolidation of the American Exceptional Culture
Auteur(s): Houria Mihoubi
Résumé: The present paper treats comprehensively the contribution of literature in general and American literature in particular to the consolidation of the social myths that help society adopt changes especially the ones brought by the industrial boom to finally build an independent and even an exceptional culture . The research paper focuses on two short stories: the first is Nathanial Hawthorne‘s “Rappacini‘s Daughter” while the second is Melville’s “The Tartarus of Maids”. In both literary works the writers through the portrayal of America as a garden and their acceptance of industry in it tended to consolidate the famous old American myth which presents the United States as a city (industry) upon a hill (pastoral).

    <description>Titre: Indices essentiels de l’éclatement des genres et appareil paratextuel Dansle Polygone Etoilé de Kateb Yacine
Auteur(s): Amamra Asma Imane
Résumé: Paratext is a vital key in the understanding of a literary text. The author uses this tool in order to invite the reader to question about the events, discourse and even the text genre. Therefore, paratextcan be seen as an implicit message from the author or publisher to arouse the reader's curiosity to push him into reading their work. The purpose of this article is to study the most significant paratextual elements of the PolygoneÉtoilé, according to our view, to analyze their particular effects when taking into account KatebYacine'swork,and most importantly to refer to the method used when practicing the literary genre (style).

    <title>Discourse-oriented evaluation in ELT</title>
    <link>https://dspace.univ-ouargla.dz/jspui/handle/123456789/12822</link>
    <description>Titre: Discourse-oriented evaluation in ELT
Auteur(s): N. Chaouki
Résumé: The methodology adopted in teaching and evaluating learning EFL seems to lack various strands of communication. Neither does it allow for that partnership between the two aspects of discourse analysis: the linguistic and the functional (illocutionary), nor does its scope for the development of students’ capacity of use seem tenable. What is more, it does not sufficiently allow them to attend to contextual elements associated with given types of discourse.A model is suggested for the introduction of an interactive component likely to enable students to attend actively to the learning input when being taught and evaluated. This, of course, follows an interactive discourse analysis-based model of teaching. It is argued that a doze of such an interactionaldiscourse ‘medicine’ will do students much better in the course of building up their discourse competence and hence their communicative competence.

    <title>Exile and the Dream of a Homeland in Susan Abulhawa’sMornings in Jenin</title>
    <link>https://dspace.univ-ouargla.dz/jspui/handle/123456789/12820</link>
    <description>Titre: Exile and the Dream of a Homeland in Susan Abulhawa’sMornings in Jenin
Auteur(s): Leila Bellour; Abdelhafid Boussouf
Résumé: This article is a critical reading of Mornings in Jenin by the Palestinian refugee author Susan&#xD;
Abulhawa. This historical novel, which fuses fiction, history, and journalistic details, depicts the&#xD;
experience of exile, the unbearable feeling of rootlessness, and the trauma inflicted by Israel who&#xD;
commits heinous crimes against the Palestinians and their land. By telling the story of four generations&#xD;
of a Palestinian family, Mornings in Jenin, which is a real epic narrative, evinces the Palestinians’&#xD;
harsh experience of displacement and eviction from their homeland and their dream of returning. The&#xD;
novel is a very good portrayal of the grave psychological and physical effects of Israel’s conquest. As&#xD;
novels about the Palestinian cause are very few, Particularly in English, this novel is written as a&#xD;
reaction to the Jewish narrative that has long dominated literature. The novel is written in English in&#xD;
order to reach the entire world and to help it learn about the Palestinian cause.
