Titre: DONNEES PRELIMINAIRES SUR LE MENU TROPHIQUE DE TROIS ESPECES DE TOURTERELLES DANS LES PALMERAIES DE OUARGLA (SAHARA SEPTENTRIONAL-EST D’ALGERIE)
Auteur(s): HERHIRA, M. L; BOUZID, A; GUEZOUL, O
Résumé: In recent decades, the genus Streptopelia (S. decaocto, S. senegalensis, and S. turtur) has become increasingly present in the various phoenicicultural environments of the northern Sahara-East of Algeria, particularly in Ouargla basin. The trophic menu of turtle-doves is almost entirely composed of cereals, particularly Poaceae (n = 6; 46.2 % > 2 x m; m = 7.7 %) followed by Cucurbitaceae (23.1% > 2 x m; m = 7.7 %). Among cereal seeds, Hordeum vulgare, Triticum durum and Brassica nigra were the most pecked.

CAMEL MEAT PRODUCER’S TYPOLOGY IN THE ALGERIAN NORTHERN SAHARA - CASE OF THE REGION OF SOUF

Titre: CAMEL MEAT PRODUCER’S TYPOLOGY IN THE ALGERIAN NORTHERN SAHARA - CASE OF THE REGION OF SOUF
Auteur(s): BRAHIMI, Zakaria; SENOUSSI, Abdelhakim
Résumé: A field survey involving 144 camel meat producers from Souf region the Algerian northern Sahara was implemented in order to establish a typology of camel meat producers and collect data on camel production strategies, and camel rearing place. The collected data allowed to identify 3 homogeneous groups of producers well distinguished between them after cluster analysis. (traditional rural breeders, breeders-fatteners and fatteners). The present study confirmed the predominance of camel fattening in the study area compared, to traditional camel rearing. In-depth technical and economical studies on the different types of producers are mandatory to evaluate the vulnerability of the different systems in order to ensure camel-rearing production sustainability in the arid region of the country.

Résumé: Fungi that dwell internally in hosts that appear to be healthy and asymptomatic are known as endophytic fungi. For decades, fungi have demonstrated their value as sources of natural compounds for both industrial and biomedical development. This study aimedto identify some endophytic fungi, which were associated with the stems, leaves and roots of southeastAlgerianplants. Eleven endophytic fungi were evaluated for their ability of producing extracellular enzymes such as amylase, cellulase, laccase, lipase, protease, ligninase and protease on solid media, five endophytics were selected to determine the phytochemical composition such as alkaloids, flavonoids , phenols, tannins and saponins of their extracts. Cellulase activity was detected in 27.27% of the fungus that were tested for enzyme activity, 27.27% for amylase and 18.18% showed for ligninase. The phytochemical analysis revealed alkaloid as the only composition present in all selected endophytic’s extracts. This study can be regarded as a preliminary work, endophytic fungi of high activity are proposed as possible resources for industrial applications.

Résumé: The present study aims to characterize the ligneous vegetation of the forest massif of Chettaba in terms of its floristic composition and its structure. The data was collected by means of floristic surveys, measuring the diameter at 1.30 m for trees and by counting individuals with a diameter < 5 cm in four plots of 30m x 30m (900 m2). Diversity indices were calculated based on specific frequencies. The dendrometric parameters and calculated diversity indices vary from one plot to another. Thus, the density varies from 444 to 1067 individuals/ha, the basal area from 5.30 to 18.12 m²/ha, the average height from 3.82 to 6.47m, the total volume is from 13.14 to 79.44 m3/ha. The Shannon index varies from 0.38 to 0.99 bits and that of Pielou from 0.29 to 0.55 bits, thus reflecting a generally low woody diversity. Holm oak with a high IVI value is considered a main species. These data complete and refine the knowledge of this forest phytodiversity, an essential basis for the development of management plans for sustainable management
