Titre: What are the Challenges faced in the processing of Arabic language
Auteur(s): Nasria Bouhyaoui; Randa Benkhelifa
Résumé: Arabic is considered a Semitic language closely related to Hebrew and Aramaic. It ranks in fifth place of the most spoken languages in the world. Arabic is official Language in 26 countries, and it is the mother tongue of approximately 295 million speakers (McCarthy, 2018). There is a rapid growth of the content of Arabic language on the internet. This calls for the necessity to develop Arabic Natural Language Processing applications. The process of automatic understanding of texts is what we call Natural Language Processing. There is a lack of NLP applications in Arabic language in comparison with other languages in addition the results of processing of the existed application is considered poor because of the complexity of Arabic language nature. The chief purpose of the current study is to address the features of Arabic language that make the task of Arabic NLP a hard task.

Résumé: " The Narrator / Narratee Dialogue" is the title of the fifth chapter of Carole Tisset's book "Linguistic Analysis of Narration". It is a didactic book in which the researcher presents a set of linguistic mechanisms and tools which allow the student, as well as the researcher interested in the analysis of the narratives, to approach the narration, which requires, as the enunciation, the presence of two instances: issuing instance (author, narrator, character), and receiving instance (reader, narratee, character), and aims to achieve two main objectives: one is aesthetic (attracting the interest of the receiving instance in working on the language), and the other is cognitive (to make known the receiving instance of the worldview invested in the enunciation, and to try to make it believe or make persuade an idea). Thus, the researcher uses, in this chapter which is intended for the analysis of the enunciative and pragmatic aspect of the narration, key terms that belong to the domain of linguistics, such as' enunciated, enunciation, shifter, anaphor and cataphor, as well as other terms which belong to the domain of narratology, such as narrator, narratee, narration, fiction and homodiegetic narrative.

The Role of Arabic Language in Safeguarding Cultural Heritage and Enhancing Cultural Identity in the Globalization Era

Titre: The Role of Arabic Language in Safeguarding Cultural Heritage and Enhancing Cultural Identity in the Globalization Era
Auteur(s): ياسر هاشم عماد الهياجي
Résumé: There is no doubt that language is one of the most important aspects of human
civilization. It is one of the strongest links that connect the present of the nation with its
ancient heritage and glorious past, as a means of expression about cultural heritage, and as an
essential part of the cultural and intellectual property of inherent peoples. This is explained in
the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, adopted in
October 2003. Language has maintained and transmitted many forms of cultural expression
such as myths, beliefs, rituals, stories, folk tales, and forms of knowledge as well as the
various traditional skills.
Arabic language forms a special importance for the cultural heritage and for Arab
civilization as being considered one of the constituents of Arab identity. This is attributed to
the leading role it performs throughout the ages in maintaining the constituents and the
identity of the civilized nation. It is also attributed to its being the most effective means of
maintaining the Arab cultural heritage from oblivion and vanishing, and a tool for
transmitting and presenting it for a wider range, and passing it on to the future generations.
This research aims at identifying the role that Arabic language is supposed to perform
in safeguarding of the cultural heritage and civilizational identity. It also aims at determining
the extent of the ability of Arabic Language in winning the bets and challenges that have been
imposed by globalization, without losing our identity and language.
