Résumé: Atriplex halimus subsp. schweinfurthii (Chenopodeaceae) is a perennial halophyte, which is widely distributed in the Algerian salt steppes. This study reports the effect of calcium chloride (CaCl2) on the germination and growth of this species cultivated in peat-sand mixture. Results showed that seeds were characterized by speed of germination and low sensitivity to the high concentrations of CaCl2. The threshold of sensitivity of germination ranges between 8 and 10 g/l, corresponding to osmotic pressures of 0.259 and 0.324 MPa. Optimal growth was observed at 8 g/l CaCl2 and declined with a further increase in salinity. This variety can be used locally as a fodder for livestock and could be useful in sand dune stabilization cultivated

Résumé: The seeds of the Mediterranean plant Peganum harmala (Zygophyllacae) are known to contain a number of indolic alkaloids. In this work, the potential toxic effects of seed and leaf decoctions have been studied on the development and the mortality of the third instar larvae of fly Drosophila melanogaster. Our results show that an injective treatment provokes an important mortality of the larvae; 100% larval mortality could be obtained using the higher concentrations of the seed extracts. Additionally, our data reveal that the various chemical components contained in the seed or the leaf extracts have an important impact at the level of the final development of the flies.

Résumé: The plain of El-Outaya is located in arid zone of the Saharan Atlas in southern Algeria. The groundwater are characterized by an Important and variability of the salinity. The geology indicates that the plain is constituted by evaporitic rocks. The Dj. El Melah (trias) takes a very important place in the geology of the plain by its lithological composition and its abnormal contacts with the formations around. Evaporation in the area is very important and consumes the majority of the precipitations. The heterogeneity of the aquifer of neogene is caused by the presence of clay in variable proportions. The combination between the tools, geological, hydrodynamic, statistical and chemical in the study of the mineralisation allowed us to determine its origin and its evolution in the space. The analysis of groundwater samples indicates the presence in strong concentrations of Cl-, SO42-, Na+ and Mg2+.

ÉVALUATIONS PHYSICO-CHIMIQUE ET ÉNERGÉTIQUE DE LA BIOMÉTHANISATION EXPÉRIMENTALE APPLIQUÉE AUX EFFLUENTS D’ÉLEVAGES INTENSIFS GÉNÉRÉS EN TUNISIE

Titre: ÉVALUATIONS PHYSICO-CHIMIQUE ET ÉNERGÉTIQUE DE LA BIOMÉTHANISATION EXPÉRIMENTALE APPLIQUÉE AUX EFFLUENTS D’ÉLEVAGES INTENSIFS GÉNÉRÉS EN TUNISIE

Résumé: This study, carried out in the Tunisian conditions, proposes to deepen the analysis of certain operating parameters of implemented digesters used to treat cowpat experimentally (four laboratory pilot), focusing especially on the effect of the variation of various physical and chemical conditions (temperature, agitation, nature of the substrate, ...) of the discontinuous anaerobic digestion, on the quantitative production of gas. In addition, four other experimental digesters continuously fed by poultry droppings (different depending on their rate of DM) were followed to assess the quantitative and qualitative gas productivity. A physico-chemical diagnosis (pH and Dry Matter: DM) was also undertaken throughout the fermentation process (start-up and production phases). It has been found that quantitative gas productivity is less interesting in the case of digesters discontinuously supplied with cowpat. The amount of experimental cattle biogas produced is variable according to the adopted digestion parameters. It’s maximum in front of a high temperature (35°C) and mechanical agitation of the inserted substrate (substrate mixed with inoculum). For the four poultry digesters, it is more important with the increase of the raised DM concentration. Similarly, the digester at 8% of DM (supplied with poultry droppings) is more efficient in terms of quantity and quality of gas (methane content and calorific value).
