Abstract

This article studies a form of conceptualizing the theory of poetry. In particular, it reviews a work entitled ‘The Concept of Poetry in Abbasid Poetry’. This includes investigating its theoretical background, claims, data and methodology. The article argues that this work lacks coherence and although it introduces many insightful analyses, it fails to construct a well-organized thesis.
