Abstract: This study aims to display the importance of economic diversification in the Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries, which is considered as strategic choice to achieve sustainable development, and highlighting the determinants of success in it, especially with current challenges caused by oil price fluctuations. Considering oil as an "exhausting" resource and not a "sustainable" makes us aware of the risks, opportunities, and wasted potential. The study concluded that the question of economic diversification depends on reducing barriers and challenges that limit with the need to benefit from global experiences that have succeeded in diversifying.
