Analysis of the Beveridge Relationship and its Projection on the Algerian Economy - An Econometric Study for the Period (1990 -2015) -

Abstract

Among the analytical tools that detect the state of the economy there is: Beveridge curve wich Represented by two main rates in the labor market: "unemployment rate" and "vacancy rate". We aim through this search to verify the validity of the relationship Beveridge which provides for a negative relationship between the unemployment rate and the vacancy rate by using a econometric study extends from 1990 to 2015.This relationship allow us to know the effectivity of the matching process in the Algerian labor market. The paper concluded that there was a negative relationship between the unemployment rate and the vacancy rate, which is consistent with the theoretical relationship of Beveridge. It was also found that the operational policies adopted in Algeria were effective during the period (1997-2006) and (2007-2014).
