Abstract: Researchers who are familiar with the results of studies related to circadian rhythms can observe the vast gap between evidence based knowledge in this field and its applications in medicine, pharmacology, and psychology both in diagnosis and treatment. This paradox misses benefit opportunity to patients and healthy people. Most studies in chronobiology show strong relationship between the disruption of these rhythms and many organic and psychological disorders, such as heart disease, asthma, obesity, immune diseases, cancer, depression, sleep disorders, and autism. But an important question for researchers in this area is to what extent was the use of such research in the fields of medicine and psychology theory, and application? We find the answer to the paradox in the almost complete absence of experimental knowledge accumulated in decades in the field of vital rhythms, ignoring most important results, whether in diagnosis or treatment or understanding the causes of physical and psychological disorders. Except for limited applications related to endocrine disorders, or school rhythms. This ignorance is due, probably, to several factors cited in our research to answer two questions: why doctors and psychologists continue to ignore circadian rhythms? How do we include this knowledge in the training programs of doctors and psychologists? We reviewed part of scientific literature in this field, published between 2006 and 2016 using Medline and Google Scholar search engines. Then, we review the program of training doctors psychologists in Algeria to confirm our observation, and provide answers to our questions. Suggestions are proposed to fill this gap, and to inform students of medicine and psychology on rhythms importance in health and disease.
