Abstract: This paper attempts to review the most important analytical elements related to the discussion of the Maghreb border issue, exploring the areas of border cooperation between the Maghreb countries, the main approaches and the mechanisms established for them, and exploring the prospects of this cooperation in light of the current security threats and challenges in the region. It concluded that this cooperation is ineffective due the values of suspicion and suspicion among the States parties, where the information exchanged is incomplete, especially in the field of smuggling and drug trafficking, which vary in the Maghreb countries' ranking in its security agenda.
