Barium sulphate deposits pose many problems for oil wells and hydrocarbon production and processing facilities and reservoir. This deposit is formed, when the water injected for the recovery of hydrocarbons is incompatible with the reservoir water. The main objective of This work is to study the preventive treatment ofBaSO4by two methods: the first method is the AD32 inhibitor it is the most used solution in the HMD field but this method is not effective, and the second method is the desulfation of the injection water by anionic resins which allow the technique of ion exchange with anions of sulfates dissolved in the injection water, and discover the total capacity of these resins, The study was carried out at laboratory level of water treatment. After the treatment of the injection water we found that Prevention by resins is the only effective solution used to prevent the formation of Barium sulphateen_US
