Study of the effectiveness of essential oil of a medicinal plant in biological control

Abstract

This work aims to study the essential oil and the Allelopathic and Antifungal activity of essential oil extract of the aromatic plant Foeniculum vulgare Mill it is a medicinal plant belonging to the Umbelliferae (Apiaceae) family is a well-known aromatic plant spices.It was picked from the region of Mermouthia (Tebessa).In order to identify the active substances contained in the plant we extracted the essential oils from the aerial parts of the plant by hydrodistilation in a Clevenger-type apparatus. we conducted a Physico-chemical analysises , then the extracted oils have been studied for the Allelopathic and Antifungal effect. finally ,analyzed by GC-MS . the obtained results, we are shown the great importance of the oils of this plant and its great biological effectiveness ,which can be used in several fields (medical, industrial, cosmetic.) The analysis of the essential oil with a yield (0.89%) by GC-MS allowed us to identify the main components α-phellandrene (29.44%) ;Dill ether(21.52%) .The profile obtained in the present study was very different to the previous studies.

هدف هذا العمل إلى دراسة الزيت الأساسي و الفاعلية الاليلوباثية و الفعالية المضادة للفطريات لمستخلص الزيت الأساسي للنبات العطري Foeniculum vulgaremill و هو نبات طبي تنتمي الى العائلة الخيمية (Apiaceae) وهي من توابل النباتات العطرية المعروفة ، تم انتقاؤها من منطقة المرموثية (تبسة) . تم استخلاص الزيوت العطرية من الأجزاء الهوائية للنبات بواسطة جهاز التقطير المائي من نوع Clevenger بعدها أجريت التحاليل الفيزيوكيميائية تمت دراسة الزيوت المستخلصة من اجل الفاعلية المكافحة و المضادة للفطريات . و أخيرا ، تم تحليلها بواسطة GC-MS. من النتائج التي تم الحصول عليها تبين الأهمية الكبيرة لزيت هذا النبات و فاعليته البيولوجية الكبيرة و التي يمكن استخدامها في عدة مجالات (الطبي ، الصناعية ، التجميلية ....). تحليل الزيت الأساسي بمردود (0.89%) بواسطة GC-MS سمح لنا بتحديد المكونات الرئيسية الرئيسية α-phellandreneبنسبة29.44)٪(،Dill ether بنسبة (21.52). كانت النتائج المتحصل عليها في هذه الدراسة مختلفة جدا عن الدراسات السابقة
