Abstract: The present study aims to identify the alternative perceptions in the natural sciences of the first year students. The study sample consisted of (150) students in the first year at middle school , selected by nonrandom sampling method by random way. In order to collect data, the alternative perception scale was designed in natural sciences and life of the first year at middle school. After the statistical processing of the data collected, the current study resulted in the following results: 1. The student at the first year have average average level of alternative perceptions in the science of nature and life. 2. The student at the first year have an average average level of achievement in the sciences of nature and life. 3 - There is a positive correlation between the alternative perceptions and achievement in the science of nature and life in the first year at middle school. 4- There are differences in the alternative perceptions in the science of nature and life in the first year at middle school according to the gender variable (male / female). 5 - There are differences in alternative perceptions in the science of nature and life of in the first year at middle school according to the variable level of education of the head of the family.
