Abstract: | Up to now, optimizing wireless sensor network WSN solutions is considered as a
trending topic in literature. Many works have been proposed targeting many
objectives, such as: Longevity (network lifetime), Reliability (packet delivery) and
Timeliness (latency) … etc. Our research work is focused on latency optimization for
Beaconless Geographic Routing protocols. We have considered the Beaconless on Demand
Strategy (BOSS) protocol and enhanced it performances by designing an adaptive
delay function, which we have added to the BOSS protocol, in order to overcome its
data propagation delay issue and optimize the overall latency in WSNs. The enhanced
BOSS protocol has been implemented and tested in many simulation environments,
using OMNet++. The simulation gave us satisfying results, and showed the significant
difference that our contribution made. |
