Abstract: In this academic study, I looked closely at the new approach- Civil society- adopted by the Algerian legislature in constitutional amendment 2020, As a new mechanism for implementing participatory democracy, Involving citizens in the decision-making process. The study aims to clarify the concept and importance of civil society in the legal system of the stat, and role assigned to it in decision-making. This study was based on a common methodology (Descriptive method- inductive method- analytical method) to present a general perception of civil society, and providing solutions to enhance the role of civil society in decision-making and its implementation
