DL50= 0.24 ± 0.003 mg/ml pour l’extrait d’acétate d’éthyle. La DL50 pour le produit CHOKE utilisé
The objective of this work was to study the bioactive potentiality of three extracts from a spontaneous aromatic plant in the Algerian Sahara, known as Salvia chudaei Batt. & Trab (Lamiaceae) against white date palm mealy bugs and the α-amylase inhibitory activity. The chloroform extract, hexane and ethyl acetate are obtained by maceration with a gradient of increasing polarity. The phytochemical screening of three extracts detected the presence of various secondary metabolites mainly polyphenols, terpenes, flavonoids, tannins and coumarins. The application of the three extracts of the plant studied on the infected leaflets of the date palm by the spray method approved the efficacy of our extracts against white cochineal Parlatoria blanchardi with lethal doses (LD50) = 7.24 ± 0.005 mg/ml for two extracts of chloroform and hexane, and an LD50 = 0.24 ± 0.003 mg/ml for the ethyl acetate extract. The LD50 for the CHOKE product used as a positive control is equal to (0.995 ±0.034%). The study of the inhibition of the enzymatic activity of α-amylase by the extracts of S. chudaei has meant that this plant exerts an inhibitory effect against this enzyme, whose EC50 values marked for acarbose, hexane extract, chloroform extract and ethyl acetate extract are respectively assessed by (0.089 ± 0.04 mg/ml), (0.48 ± 0.02 mg/ml), (0.018 ± 0.08 mg/ml) and (0.017 ± 0.000 mg/ml). All the results obtained showed that the ethyl acetate extract represents very important biological activities. This plant can be used as a source of new bioactive molecules very effective against diabetes and as bio- pesticides |
