This work deals with a numerical simulation study of the performance and efficiency of a solar cell composed of three thin layers of SnO2/CdS/CdTe using the SCAPS-1D solar cell simulation program. We studied the effect of lighting and darkness, as well as the effect of external temperature on the performance and efficiency of the solar cell by studying the media related to the solar cell outputs such as short circuit current density (Jsc), open circuit voltage (Voc), fill factor (FF) and efficiency (η). The results of numerical simulation using the program showed that the SnO2/CdS/CdTe solar cell behaves the same as the p-n junction. The results also showed that changing the temperature has a clear effect on the media values related to the solar cell outputsen_US
