Abstract: Historical writing in the region of Tabuk represents an extension of the Islamic Historical School in trends and approaches adopted in the books of the region history by local investigators. This study is an attempt to reveal the contributions of the region’s locals to identify the history of the region and the factors influencing that, and the track of their contributions to identify the region’s news in the past fifty years. This study has focused on highlighting the local researchers’ attempts and efforts to write the history of Tabuk region. The study included printed and published historical materials of books or master's and doctoral thesis. This study also focused on tracing the beginnings of historical writing and historians perspectives and the influencing factors in their writings and perception of history; especially that many of the issues and questions for understanding the history, the historian’s sources of tendency, motivations and passion; all of that represent a strong motive to identify driving factors involved in writing history, and all perspectives that make historian contribution with general, local, biography or lineages. The study also contained selected models of historical writing approaches in the region. The selection of Tabuk region for this study was made due to important historical status through ages, and perhaps one of the most prominent historical events that gave the region a clear presence on the historical stage is the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him to Tabuk in the Battle of Tabuk. The region’s geographical importance has associated with religious aspect, as it is a passage for pilgrims from many parts of Muslim world through the stations of Shami and Egyptian pilgrimage ways giving the region a special place in the hearts of the pilgrims flowing from all over the world. The study looks at models of historians from Tabuk region. Historical materials were collected for selective models of region’s historians, this study mainly relied on historians’ contributions, and that was an absolute analysis and investigation for those contributions.
