Abstract

This article is based on a non-published manuscript. It was found in one of the Mizab's library, in the Algerian Sahara. The manuscript compiles a set of "responses (ajouiba)" sent by Ibadi scholars of Jerba and the Jabal Nafousa to Abu al-Abbas Ahmad al-Timaçini, who had asked them for advices. This very rare document gives an insight into the socio-economic life of Timaçine as much as an overview on the beginning of the Ibadi decline in this region
