Abstract: Truthful witness testimony is a cornerstone of any criminal proceeding, which is designed to establish the facts of an alleged crime and the guilt or innocence of an accused person. The prosecution, the defense and legal representatives of victims may all need to call witnesses to support their case. Witnesses are under an obligation to tell the truth and are required to make a solemn declaration that they will do so before they give their testimony. The existence of an effective system of witness protection more resources to take action against corruption and all crimes and violations. As it offers a safe environment and transmits a climate of trust is essential to encourage reporting of all forms of crime. The ability of the state to protect witnesses of the most important elements of any plan against crime in general and corruption crimes, terrorism and organized crime in particular.This study focuses to clarify aspects of legal protection for the security of witnesses in the legislation of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
