dc.description.abstractthe modern critical discourse attaches a great importance to the paratext as well as to the linguistic signs in the literary work. The study of the paratext takes an important place in critical studies because they are convinced by the great importance of the color and the form ,that characterise the literary text , for the meaning. The cover and its color, the front matter(dedication, opening information, foreword), indentation and the punctuation are all paratexts that react with the linguistic signs in order to form a literary text which is characterise by a lot of beauty aspects. It is clear that the paratext represents a crucial part of the beauty of the literary text which is as important as the language. According to what is previously discussed , i can ask the following questions:WHat is a paratext? were the ancient Arab critics interested by the paratext or it is newly studied by the modern project? What are the different clarifications added by the paratext to the literaren_US
